How do I show the Calculate button to employees requesting absence?

When adding or approving an absence request, SMB provides a tool to calculate the estimated length of the absence based on the employee’s working hour pattern and/or recorded timesheets. By default, this option is not visible to employees when making a request, as their working time may change between making the request and the request being approved.

However, if you would like employees to be able to check the estimated length of an absence at the point of requesting it, you can activate this by going to the “Administration” option on the main menu, then selecting the “Absence Approval Settings” option in the “Absence/Sickness Administration” panel.

On the form shown, scroll to the bottom of the page where you will find the option to enable the Request Duration tool. To enable this, simply select the checkbox and click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.  Once activated, employees will be able to click on a “Calculate” button when making a request to see the estimated duration of their absence.
