The Public Holiday list is used to record the days in any given year that are statutory holidays for your employees. This list is used to calculate the correct holiday allocation for employees, particularly those who work part time and therefore may not have a straightforward pro-rata holiday calculation.
It’s a good idea to populate the follow year’s statutory holidays as soon as you know the dates, as this will ensure that employee’s holiday allocation for following holiday periods is reflected correctly.
Note: Adding or removing public holidays will impact on the holiday allowance calculations for part time employees. This calculation takes place at the point that a holiday is added or removed.
