Competency levels are used to describe the skill level in a particular competency that an employee has attained.
Each level can be recorded with a title, a description of the skill level, the level of knowledge an employee at this level has demonstrated and the experience required to reach this skill level.
You may have as many skill levels as you require based on the competency frameworks you wish to use. Skill levels are universal, which means they are used to describe progress towards all competencies, so be as generic as possible when defining the levels you wish to use.
