SMB allows you to secure your login details using a two-factor authentication app such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator, which can be installed on any smartphone. This app is used to generate a secure 6-digit code every 2 minutes, which can be entered during the login process to ensure that the person attempting to login is you.
To setup Google authentication, the first step is to install the Authenticator app of your choice from your app store. Once setup, log into your SMB account and open the settings menu by clicking on your name in the top-right corner of the screen, and select “My Settings”.
When the setting page is shown, scroll down to the “2 Factor Authentication” panel and click on the “Enable Two-Factor Authentication” button.
The setup page will then display a QR code to allow you to setup your mobile phone. Open your authentication app and follow the on-screen instructions to scan the QR code. Once recognized, the system will generate a 6-digit code to confirm the setup. Enter the code in the “Enter Security Code” box and click “Enable Two-Factor Authentication” to switch on this security setting.
The next time you log in, after entering your username and password, you will be directed to a page where you can enter the code shown on your Authentication app. Open the app on your phone and enter the code shown to access SMB.
